yeah with all the talks about gay marrage in Canada some extreme christian rights were saying how hell would rain on us. Which is fucked up since like the Dutch has had legel gay marriage for like 20 or more years

Wait, isn't homosexuality and rampant sin why George Bush asked God to wreck New Orleans? [/sarcasm]

I'm not trying to label you or anything, but agnostics believe in some sort of higher power. You may have meant you believe in the Christian form of God but I'm not sure. I'm just clearing up what agnostic means.

Which leads me to my next point.... I'd fall into agnostic if anything. I've been back and forth on Christianity but the more I think about it the harder it is to really identify with the faith.

homosexuality isn't a sin. People just want you to believe that it is

Well, I wouldn't say that people want you to believe it is, I'd say people believe that it is. I'm sure you didn't mean it, but by what you said it sounded like you were implying that people knew it is not a sin but wanted you to think it is, which really wouldn't be fair.

I'm pretty apathetic about the whole religion thing. I have a friend who's a pretty big atheist, but I honestly could really less.

I took Biology in University and as such I believe in evolution and the principles of Occam's Razor. I believe in the need for evidence and whatnot. To be honest, I think God is an unnecessary step in the history of the universe. As such it's quite likely that there's no such thing.

However, even if there were a God, it wouldn't change the way I live my life in any way, shape or form.

I should also throw in this link. If seriously questioned and pressured to identify with a set of beliefs, I follow my Noodly Master. May you be touched by his noodly appendage.... :china

I know for a fact that there is nothing in the bible that in anyway stats that it is a sin. I know there is a text in the bible that some people interpret it as it saying it is a sin to be gay. And some people interpret it like that. But you can not find a text that reads 'Loving another man is a sin' And yeah i guess my wording wasn't the greatest.

I know, I agree with you about gay marriage. :heh I was just saying that I think that people who think it should be banned are merely making a mistake, and have good intentions about it.

I've always known the FSM. From birth, I had an intrinsic desire to get closer to the FSM.

really from your name i could have sworn you were Jewish.

Which is surprising to me to see that no one here is jewish. In Quebec like 90% of the population is Catholic yet 1/4 of all the people i know are Jewish.

I was raised in a secular environment, parents always thaught me god was made up and thats everyone I know's opinion basically. But I was always thaught to have respect for other religions, my grandfather was a priest among other things.

Lately though I find it harder and harder to respect christianity as a whole, in Sweden it's ok but especially in the bible belt of the US christianity is just so evil and horrible and that combined with all the blood christianity has on its hands through history with the crusades and the inqusition makes it really hard for me to accept it as a good religion.

So all religion basically is evil to me, I think of all the lives that could have been saved if there was no islam, if there was no christianity. So I'm totally anti religious.

As I've mentioned to you before, the abuse of religion ha scaused much suffering... but if you actually knew what you were talking about, you'd realise that the teachings themselves of the Bible and Qu'ran, if followed properly, would actually lead to a utopian society. The bible belt "evil and horrible?" :hhe, maybe a little out of touch, but definitely not evil.

It is true that christianity has blood on its hands...a lot for that matter. But you have to realize that every religion has blood on its hands. Not beliefs like Budism but actual religions like Islam, and Jewadism. Also any war that had nothing to do with god or a religion. Gives blood to the hands of the Aithiests cause it was not for a higher being but for themselves.

Personally i feel god has no place on the battlefield. No war should be fought in his name. Allies believed god was on their side. Nazis believed god was on their side. Whos side was he really on. If it were the Nazis why did he not let them win. Or if he were on the Allies side why did so many have to die before victory was assured.
