Well from what I gather, we're still able to do Ubertricks. Plus we're still doing the 100mph thing. I don't think any snowboarder would realistically go that fast.

The record is 125mph, actually. Not important, though. ;) I was more curious as to what makes you think we'll still be able to do Ubertricks? I don't mean to come across as standoffish (we're on the same team - I want Ubertricks, too! :cheers ), but I see nothing in the trailer or Peter Moore's more recent comments to indicate such.

Well I'm referring to the fact that the very first trailer for On Tour has a whopping one Ubertrick in it (or Monster Trick, if you must). Wait, is that a good sign or a bad one?

Still though, the original SSX had no ubers in it, yet it's a classic...

I was thinking of that the other day. Maybe the "going back to the roots" thing is a warning sign that there will be no Uber tricks in Deadly Descent.

I personally hope that back to roots refers to how the first two games had levels each based on different locations in the world (Snowdream in Japan, Elysium Alps in the Alps, Alaska in Alaska, etc). Only this time instead of them all being custom-made tracks, they're now all backcountry levels. Now that would become rather boring, so how do you spice it up? Make the environment fight the riders with snowstorms, deadly drops, and more. Thus you get SSX: Deadly Descents.

In fact to me, going around the world and conquering many peaks seems like the natural step from SSX 3, where the goal was to conquer three peaks on one mountain.

Indeed. This game will truly give a new meaning to "It's YOU against the MOUNTAIN".

Same here, and that's the bit I'm looking forward to. In SSX 3 we had avalanches, falling icicles and trees, snowstorms and bits of the level falling off. I loved that stuff and it was a shame it didn't last for very long, so I'm eagerly anticipating to see what DD throws at us (such as rock slides maybe, or melting ice), and how it expands on what 3 offered (remember the early trailers where there was an actual block of snow with the avalanche?).
