Has anyone played the digital version of SSX? I wondered if there is any feedback regarding the load times, as I am considering buying the digital copy if the load times are faster. Thanks.

Normally digital is better since you're loading from the hard drive and not the disc. That's why I always download my games onto my xbox to reduce loading times and put less strain on the disk.

I always thought digital was better, too. LOL, nah. The Ballad of Gay Tony lags big time. Yes, the loading times are shorter, but that's it. TV shows were still low-res, framerate on PS3 was a joke.

I dunno. I don't trust digital.

I bought my first full game digital download recently, NCAA 13. I liked the idea of not having to open a box and put in a disk to play the game. It was just right there on the menu. But then I realized later that once I was finished with the game.....I couldn't trade it back in for store credit.

When digital is an option, I take it over the disk version. The latest digital purchase I made was Hitman Absolution. The load times are insanely fast. I blink and the game is loaded before my eyes open. I am stuck on the disk version of SSX... the load times are HORRENDOUS. I just wonder whether the load times will be any faster on the digital version... my friends say sometimes it is just some games are made well and load fast, and while I want to support SSX... spending £20 to find the game doesn't load any faster would be a bit frustrating / disappointing.

It's a mockery that they charge so much for digital downloads.
Look at steam.

Whaaa? they are the same for the physical copies. Plus Steam is always having sales.

Personally, i prefer the Phyiscal copies just because its the physical version. i can hold onto it and keep it.

Exactly my point.
Digital-You don't need a physical disc, and you don't need to distribute, and you cut out the middle-man (store) and they can't be re-sold.
So, charging as much as they do, is simply dumbfounding.
As for steam, they charge far less.

If you check the PS store enough they sometimes do deals. I got Hitman Absolution digital for £16.99 in the PS Store during the winter sale. Physical copies in the shops are like £42.99.

Anyway, I'm not bothered about being able to "hold" a physical copy. Actually, it just wastes space in the house to have it. The games soon build up and you need a lot of storage for them. I also never sell games I've owned.

Back on topic though, it seems the SSX load times weren't as bad as I remember them :D I hadn't played in a while (while you were away: 609 ghost wins lol)
