Hi there - I'm quite new to SSX OT. In the movies on Merqurycity i see loads of people performing tricks while railing.

How do I sit down when i rail? Do I need to buy a trick? Do I need to have a full boost-bar?

I tried searching the forum and reading the FAQ and the guide but I can not perform this trick.

Any help appreciated :wink

It's pretty simple. You have to have some boost first - then you just hold a grab and press the tweak button while you are on a rail.

If you have a PS2, it's L1/L2/R1/R2 + Square.

Oh yes! It works - now I finally can get past the "get ahead 400.000 points" :)
I can score double now on a rail :)

Thanks!

Correction to what Gondee said --- You don't need to press the Square button to do a rail-uber, just L1/L2/R1/R2. Pressing Square just boosts on the rail.

You do need to have Yellow or Purple boost to do an Uber.

Ah yet, you're right. You do have to have some boost though - I was right on that. :heh

It actually took about a year of playing SSX3 to work it out - found out by making mistake.

what's your preference? Racing or Showoff.

Showoff is it for me.

I started with the first SSX which was good...(bought my ps2 just for that game) but i totally _loved_ TRICKY. I got gold for all characters in no time... the racing was bad because you HAD to race 3 times in order to win so it took a while to get that done.

While doing the tricks I learned all the shortcuts and then the races where easier to achieve.

Never really liked SSX3 - but I'm imersed now in On Tour.
Can't wait to see if another SSX will come (for ps3/xbox360 or maybe ... PC !?).

Question: If SSX Tricky would show up for PC. Would you buy it?

Ha - I started with SSX 3 then OT and now I'm retraining on Tricky.

I'm a racer - I suck at Showoff

I wish the SSX on Tour Guide and Walkthrough FAQ explained this. It mentions "monster rail trick" as well as "rail trick", is there a difference?

I can't figure out how to do rail tricks if I'm using the "Trick Stick Pro" settings.
