Firefox. I've been discussion that over at the cybescore irc channel because the site was running slow. :heh

Anyway, download firefox. It's safer, it has a pop-up blocker (you can turn it off in some sites if you want), and personnaly (sp?) I think it's faster than IE.

Actually, FireFox opens up sites just a little slower than IE. But you'll be kissing your IE goodbye in a couple of months with all the spyware that comes through.

You really don't have to worry about that with FireFox. It dwarfes IE in safety...ten-fold.

MSN. You have to sign in to MSN Messenger to use it, but I like it.

I really think firefox is faster...look at the compile times. It owns IE. :heh

IE: http://img38.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ie2sr.png

FF: http://img38.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ff0yx.png

(I know the times are way big, but the site has been slow due to heavy traffic, since it re-opened 3 days ago). :frusty

Firefox is teh pwn. It doesn't let those virus DOS programs run like IE does. It has saved my computer twice already.

alpmaster is correct; IE loads pages a bit faster than Firefox (though this is a hardly noticeable difference for most people) and, of course, starts up faster because it's built into Windows.

Like other people said, get Firefox. There's a ridiculously easy way to make Firefox faster.

Holy shit dude, thanks.

I heard about pipelining but never knew it was so damn easy. :eek

Now Fire Fox is easily on par with my IE, if not faster.

I recommend all Fire Fox users do this.

No, I don't think she should do that with dial up. They said only if you have broadband to do it, it might overload 56k.

If you read the comments they say there's no need to put it higher than 8. Dunno if it's true though...

I was worried it would back fire if I just kept putting it higher. I have it at 35. I'm sure it's not like you can just keep putting it up and keep making it faster and faster.

Just an FYI, but setting network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to anything over 8 won’t do any good because as far as HTTP 1.1 is concerned, 8 is the max, and that’s hardcoded into the 1.1 spec, so.. =)

Edit: who voted for IE? :eek :eek :heh
