This isn't to discuss who's gonna win....heh...

So you do actually watch it for the game or do you watch for just the commercials? or both?

I watch for both, though i'm hoping the commercials this year are better than they were last year...there's only so many impotency commercials a gal could take...:lol

Also, what's your favorite superbowl commercial....

Mine is one from the titans/rams superbowl....it was a cat hearding ranch and it so too funny, i have no idea what the commercial was for, but the concept of it was great. There were these cowboys herding cats across the plains and one guy was all beat up with scratches and he had a sling on his arm, another guy was using a lint roller to clean his jacket, it was toooo funny. heh....anyways...

well this year i'll be watching for the ads!!

my fav is still the 1984 macintosh ad done by Ridley Scott (Alien,Bladerunner)

http://www.uiowa.edu/~commstud/adclass/1984_mac_ad.html

one of my other favs, which i could never find online, started out with these 2 guys in a lifeboat. one in the bow and one in the stern. well the sun goes up and then goes down, and they are both still floating along in the middle of the ocean, then the sun goes down and when it comes up again the guy in the bow of the boat is gone. and then it says, alka seltzer: for when you've eaten something you shouldn't have!! :heh :heh :heh thats just too funny!!!!!

I watch for the commercials and the half-time. Football fucks ass. Unless the guys are cute, which most of them arn't. And they have all that gear and shit on. They should play naked, and in the rain. *Parties*

Atomika, the superbow is so great because it is ONE GAME. If you get there, its all or nothing, no 0-3 series comebacks, just one game. By the way, Vix and Nakofan definitely just went down on the cool list, I am so ashamed of you guys

hockey does suck...:rock :lol

but we won't go there, teehee...

I watched that special on cbs last night about past superbowl commercials, they showed my cat herding one, woo!!!

also, did you hear the some commercials were already banned from being aired, like a named mickey rooney, i think...and a budweiser commercial that poked fun of the "wardrobe malfunction" from last year.

8 out of the 11 most watched television events in American TV history were Superbowls, I heard :poke

The Superbowl rocks so hard because...bah, I can't even explain it. You sort of just have to be in on it.

My favorite commercial was the Office Linebacker. It was pee-your-pants hilarious.

:heh This isn't meant to offend anyone, but I just think it's kind of funny how in America the Superbowl is like this massive deal, it's practically a holiday, and networks pay millions of dollars to be able to broadcast it, and a 30 second commercial slot is like 2 million dollars, while in other countries networks are just like "meh, we'll show it, I guess" and people are like "hmm, I might check out part of that game, if I'm not busy".

Just goes to show the huge cultural difference. Of course, Europe has those diehard soccer fans.
