I just noticed something...I seem to do spins and flips faster when I rapidly tap the d-pad.
Is this purely visual or does it actually get a better score.

Smurphy trick, its used for getting better scores and alows you do to monster tricks easier (they are used to get big scores)

Ok, thanks for the info, probably should have looked up a guide first.

It is faster than holding, although that isn't what the Smurphy trick is. The Smurphy trick is doing another trick after a Monster Trick to avoid the repeat trick penalty.

This is why I feel last-gen games are better than current-gen games.
So many little niches in the coding!
