not sure where to post this, so as its drawn ive put it here

Mcomm v2
Just my thoughts on an updated SSX3 Mcomm for SSX-DD. Icons are all guesswork based on SSX3 and DD information. Ive tried to make the idea as real world as possible but still make it for SSX - enjoy, comment or simply post your own design etc.............

Image

The mcomm is an ingame (when riding) menu system (pause screen).
Descriptions excluding the left column from (left to right)

Dark Blue
Global map - linking to google earth style menu screen
Transpost - call chopper for a pickup
Main menu - whatever is setup already as the game menu

Orange
Autolog - online, same as need for speeds speedwall system. offline, single player gets messages from other characters
Audio - sort out your tunes or turn the radio on/off.
Option - HUD, controls etc

Cyan
Trick book - much like Tricky, see what you have completed and what you can learn.
Stats - see you online status, best race times, friends stats, global status, total airtime etc
Freeride - go back to previous unlocked tracks and explore (weather option can be included here)

Purple
Store - spend your earnings on new gear or just use it to kit your rider out.
Replay log - view your own saved rides, your friends and others best rides recorded and uploaded for viewing.
Online Store - ingame link to the PS store.

Live update (bottom of screen) shows any news alerts, competition, updates, rank, friends online etc. to keep you upto date.

Tricky

As well as various menu options the mcomm now has the ability to record tricks through movement and GPS location tracking.

GPS: allows the Mcomm to locate current position, altitude (on and off ground) and direction of movement with compass settings.

Motion sensors: when placed in the backpack of the rider the Mcomm can determine if the rider is leaning forward, back or to the sides. It will also register turns and loops made by the rider.

By mixing the GPS with motion sensor the Mcomm can get a full run down of of all the tricks performed during the current decent and allocate a score to that ride. Tricks completed within a timed limit gain score boosters for the rider. This information can be relayed to the rider through a wi fi / bluetooth headset (also good for music/radio while riding).

Danger Zone
While riding the Mcomm can cross reference information from online weather warnings and your GPS location. If it finds you are in an unsafe zone (eg avalanche or incoming Storm) it can emit a warning tone through the headset to alert the rider (this option can be muted if reuired).

Extras:
Image is viewed as left grip but can be turned for right handed grip. As an extra effect it would be nice to see the mcomm move slightly as the player moves the controller (killzone2 level screen style).

I hope they bring back the "cool robot-voice backing vocals" which made SSX so great. Like how they said "Welcome to S-S-X Tricky" in Tricky, and when you push start in SSX3 you will hear a voice saying "Mcomm!".

Great design, Yeti. :)

In the game, you could have the in game soundtracks, download more, but it would also be a cool function if you could listen to the existing real life radio stations your console might pick up
