I got it after I did the "Do 15 Ubers" challenge at History Lesson.

Despite having done more than my fair share of lurking in the past, I am clueless as to the significance of this - what's the story?

It's our little contribution to the game. We've always enjoyed sort of close relationship with EA BIG - they noticed our site after the first game, contributed some stuff to the site for the second, and even more than that.

That will get you up to date on our history with EA BIG, including the SSX 3 weekend. To answer your question right away, we've had the pleasure of having a user-designed snowboard in SSX 3, SSX On Tour, and SSX Blur.

This time around, we had a contest for our users to submit a board design to EA. Then our users voted on it, and Royank's design won.

You can see the winning design in the movie I posted on the site. Here is the render Royank made:


There's a whole lot of backstory here, but suffice it to say Royank's board design is in SSX Blur and I wanted him to see it.

That's awesome! The last time I was really here was when the On Tour, ahem, 'thing' happened (no need to go into that). I'm really glad to hear the EA relationship is still there. Thanks for the update - here's hoping for another SSX3-type weekend.

Edit: just having a look at the competition entries, what a beautiful collection of boards!

Roy got a board into On Tour too, that was the Merqurycity.com board. We even got mentioned in the credits in On Tour.

What 'thing' were you talking about? We were pretty harsh on EA for On Tour, but justifiably so, since the test of time has shown that On Tour is the weakest in the series.

Regarding On Tour, yes, that's all I was referring to. But I certainly agreed with merqurycity's stance on the game.

I think I've put perhaps 3 hours into On Tour despite my ridiculous time spent on the previous games. The upside now is that some of the tracks in Blur will be a brand new experience for me!

Edit: have spent some time with On Tour tracks and can say I am looking forward to Blur remixes. Hopefully I know where I am on the mountain in Blur cos I have no idea in On Tour.

Nice. Only thing that bothers me is the -1 on Tricks . Now lets see some gameplay of it in action.

Gondee, what about merqurycity was in the OT credits.

I checked, no Merq in the credits, but they let me know that it probably wouldn't happen when I sent them the board.
