I am curious to see how many people in here are getting SSX Blur and why.
So here is a little poll.

I love my Wii and I love my SSX.

I'm still holding out for original tracks though, not re-painted ones. That would definately be a plus.

This is one of the reasons why I'm buying a Wii. Every good game that is released for the Wii is another reason to buy a Wii.

Life is far too thrilling to spend over $250 on a video game system. Even $250 is steep, in my opinion.

The votes are split in an interesting fashion. What do 35% of you have against the Wii?

Well, the way the poll makes it, it sounds like us 35% (atm) are extremely anti-wii and anti-nintendo.

Thing is, most of us will:

1. Not buy a next gen system

2. Will not buy a next gen system until prices drop

3. Can/Are only buying 1 next gen system and Wii is not the one.

If I had bought a Wii, sure, I'd pick it up. But one game isn't going to make me buy a system, unless it is just that good and the system is cheap. IE: SSBM, Halo (although I'm not a fan of halo), FF7, and the likes.

After OT, most don't want to take a $250+ chance at a bad game. Of course this is only if you are buying a wii and getting Blur, which is what the poll doesn't clearly distinguish. Obviously most people who already have a Wii are going to buy the game as well.

Yeah, and what, 4 million or so Wiis are out there right now? I think EA is more interested in hitting untapped markets more than appeasing to the faithful with this one. :yes

well i m totally gunna buiy a wii, pretty much just to play Blur. although i will admit i like the look of Zelda and metroid, so i'll probably play those too.

Zelda is an amazing game and for even a casual fan of the series out there, this is a must own.

As for metroid, yea, these are amazing games as well (I've played Prime, not Echoes yet) and I'm sure the new installment will be nothing shy of amazing.

But, do a handful of games justify a system? I bought gamecube only for Zelda WW and nothing more. I was pleasantly surprised by how great Metroid was (skeptical about the first person shooter change), so those 2 games justified the system for me...kinda.

Although Wii looks great and I'm sure it is for those it's marketed to, Nintendo still has trouble and always will shaking the 'kid-friendly' appeal. They just are not crossing into the Adult market and that's just fine if they can survive that way. Nothing wrong with that.

I will miss ssx as I will not own a wii (saving up for a ps3). I am a huge fan of the series but #1 not going to buy a next-gen system for this game #2- don't like the cartoony look of the game. SSX 3 was pretty photo-realistic for the most part and that was nice (especially the background).

I hope they return to that in furture incarnations.

That's exactly my problem...I don't have a way to get a wii before the game comes out outside of Ebay...

At this point dude, it looks like E-bay might be your cheapest option, I went through the various online sites and found that most (ie. all) online places have Wii options listed, but only as part of a big bundle where you have to pay at least $400 for a system. I also found this handy page if you're looking for a one stop shop for Wii-online deals.

They're pretty good so far, but the Toys R Us bundles are out, I clicked on their page to order one (which they say is available), but when it gets to the next page it says that they are out of stock. :rolleyes

I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled on this and hopefully I can get a Wii at a decent price before Blur comes out.

Damn. Even tougher than I thought then. I might phone around to some local stores to see what the current policy is when those precious few consoles roll in every few weeks. If I have to camp outside before opening like a child-spoiling soccer mom, so be it!

My first roadblock is this 'no' word my wife keeps repeating when I say the 'wii' word. She says she wants one, but not yet. I'll have to lobby to make later become sooner. Or I might just wait until snowboard season ends because I'll actually be riding as long as the snow lasts. Hopefully by then supply will be meeting the demand.

unfortunately it doesn't look like i'll be getting it... i'm not spending all that money for a wii just for this, although i wish i could, but it wouldn't be responsible as i have plenty of other shit to pay for. :dead

idk what to buy/do, 'cause Gears of War and 360 looks awesome, but I'ma wanna play Smash Bros. and Blur (maybe) on Wii.. whatev I'll wait it out I guess.
