Files corrupted when reached "Legendary" level

This sucks, everytime I created a new profile and went up to "Legendary", the profile says "Damaged File" for no apparent reason.

I exactly don't know what happened here but I would need some help to get rid of this problem. Please note that the disk does not have any scratches or dust in it.

PS: I'm using PS2 for On Tour.

This happened to me about 5 times with On Tour :frusty

Your gonna have to start over again :glare

...save your file to another memory card so if it happens again you have a backup. And take off the auto-save feature and save manually.

It only happened to me once. Hopefully you should have a back-up if possible. Lucky when mine corrupted i had a back up on gamefaqs.

What kind of memory card are you using? Go with the Nintendo/Song/Microsoft brand. I have three Nintendo memory cards and they have never corupted, even when I reached Legendary. But I have another one that wasn't Nintendo brand and it got corrupted (thankfully it was just a Garage Data for F-Zero GX, and that is easy to replace as long as you have the main data.)

Using an offical card here too for PS2 and had no problems, only have 2 legendary saves though a boarder and skiier.

you should definitely stick with the Sony/MagicGate brand :thumbsup

. i have maybe 4 of those, none of them have corrupted, plus those are the official ones. i learned a long time ago that mad catz and pelican memory cards just don't cut it when i beat grand theft auto san andreas; the "saving, do not remove memory card" screen came up and froze :frusty

. i was stomping on that memory card all day that day :brucelee

. god it took me months on end to beat that game... *sigh*

I never had problems with On Tour when playing it.

Maybe the Swedish version to PS2 is better.. :heh

I had a similar problem, while I was riding, all of a sudden the graphics turned all matrix-like on me, everything turned black and you could see some weird, shiny, neon green yellow, and blue grid wrapped around everything and few seconds later the game crashed. After that in the Tour menu the file name was scratched out and it said something like "damaged data" with a drawing of a sad snowman displayed in the icon window .
Very weird and frustrating.
