Yeah, I am going to do that. The problem is of course, that I am far from anything good in racing so I can only write track guides for those things i'm good at.

I'm going to tackle the Shreds one by one this weekend, as those are set in stone, and it looks like LB isn't gonna have time to send in whatever guides he's finished. Once that's done, that'll be a huge part of the guide finished and then we can focus on the medal events.

There can be more than one guide per Shred, so no worries on that. But I've got to get this thing put out, primarily just because it's floudering right now and less than 20% of the overall courses/shreds have guides for them.

After looking over my write ups for the various shreds, I noticed that alot of it is pretty similar. It may serve better just to give general hints about each type of shred as compared to individual writeups.

For instance, on the ski patrol chase ones, some general advice would be:

1. trick alot -- when you are in the air, the ski patrol cna't get to you, plus it gives you boost so that you can run them over when you are on the ground.

2. hit back -- you can hit em to take em out, or run them over by boosting thru them, to take em out before you get taken out.

3. Use shortcuts -- this will throw some of them off your trail, cutting down on the number pursuing you at any given time.

4. For the pro-master lvl events of this type, buying the attribute that gives you extra endurance is a huge help.

5. If the ski patrol is swarming you in the harder difficulty events, try stopping completely. They will stop a little bit down the hill, so pick one out, and boost thru him to take that one out. Or take a shortcut btwn you and them and they won't be able to follow.

6. Gain enough distance on them and they will give up, and taking the shortcuts available is the best way to do this.

Things like that seem like they would serve as a much better walkthrough for those events than an actual walkthrough for each event.

As for the "grind these rails" type of events, maybe just list a web address where the reader can view the sweet vids that titan has made. It would be very difficult to explain some of those thru words alone.

And for the 1 on 1 challenges, maybe just a general listing of how much time you have (if its a trick event) and how much ground you have to cover since the actual course walkthroughs will cover all that material.

What does everyone think?

I got it Uberblitz, thanks. :)

Okay, now instead of a billion guides, I'd really like to make a special request for "Master Track Guides" - these are simply the best racing or showoff route for an individual track.

I'm going to update the FAQ tonight, but I'd love to have all the Master Track guides by the weekend. :)

Yeah, but just for a single course. That way if someone has a multi-track race, they can just piece together the tracks from the Master Track Guides in the beginning of each track section.

It's not just racing either. There should be one showoff and one racing Master Track Guide for each course. :)

What time should we assume for a freestyle master track guide? Because it varies from event to event. Like the WTF Freestyles, one is 7 minutes for 2 tracks (I think), and 8:30 for 3 tracks, which means you'd have to take the first two faster.

Does that mean you haven't done a WTF slopestyle guide yet?

Thanks Eric, I'll keep an eye out for it.

My apologies guys. It's been hella busy at work and at home with school and what not and I haven't had time to update the guide. I'm seriously hoping to be able to punch out the newest version hopefully by Wednesday. :china

Found some time tonight at work to update this. Version 0.06 out!

Master Track Guides are coming along nicely thanks to the Master Runs and several submissions by IceXtreme (steppin up bigtime! :cheers)

Next big request is Master Track Guides for Slopestyle events for all tracks. Note that Master Track Guides are for ONE track only, so if you do one for say, Mind The Gap, it's simply the most points you can score on Mind The Gap.

Well, that's a pretty tough one to answer. My advice is to point out jumps that are high scoring and/or halfpipe locations, but not to ever dictate any time recommendations since it's not for a particular event.

Say stuff like this:

"The ahead section in On The Rocks is one where there is two paths above a central "valley" of sorts. IYou can use this area as a halfpipe if you have enough time in a particular event, doing tricks by skiing up the side of the hill in the lower valley and then up the adjacent side."

The FAQ says that boasts are worth 200 Hype each. I've noticed that the amount of hype you receive depends on two different things: 1. The trick you are doing before entering the boast and 2. The difficulty of obtaining the boast. For example, for the Express Chairlift Boast I held an ubergrind while on the chairlift cables through the camera icon during a shred. When I finished I had received 750 hype (as shown by the games on the right side of the screen). I also have gotten over 1,000 for the Ring Around the Red Oak Boast. It might also have to do with your current ranking, but I'm not dedicated enough to verify it. The boasts, unlike money icons, disappear after you get them, even if you restart a freeride.

Hope everybody had a happy Thanksgiving.

if you were doing a shred or an event while getting a boast, you're gonna get more hype than normal if you win the event and what not, I think...

Actually, I think it says the amount of hype for the boast in another little bubble after the regular shred's hype is counted. So, to answer your question goaler, It depends on the difficulty on the boast, yes, but not on the trick.
